Kenyan Abortion-Rights Opponent Applause Roe v. Wade Ruling
On June 24th, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade, a landmark case that upheld the constitutional rights to abortion for almost 50 years. VOA’s Ndimyake Mwakalyelye spoke to Ann Kioko, Africa campaigns manager for CitizenGO about how abortion-rights opponents in Kenya are celebrating this decision and calling it a ‘victory.’ Ann believes that abortion is the murder of a person and addressing the root causes of teenage pregnancies through proper education is key in preventing abortions. She shares her views on how this ruling may affect countries on the African continent.
