Governor of DRC’s Lualaba Province Welcomes Sustainable Partnership
The Governor of Lualaba Province in southwestern Democratic Republic of Congo, home to one of the largest deposits of cobalt and other minerals, says her region is open to partnership for a responsible and sustainable development. Fifi Masuka Saini, one of a handful of female governors in the DRC, says while the country’s rich natural resources have been a source of great wealth for others, they have also left most of the people of the region in poverty. But she says President Felix Tshisekedi is ready to fight for a win-win partnership. Masuka Saini, was in the US recently and sat down with Daybreak Africa host James Butty, to discuss a wide range of issues, including women participation in government, the fight against corruption, and investment opportunities.
