Founder of Burundian NGO Addresses Barriers for the Disabled Community
Fidele Musiri, CEO and founder of the Disability Response Association, created DISARA to combat discrimination against people with disabilities living in rural areas especially in Cibitoke, Burundi. Fidele speaks to VOA’s Auriane Itangishaka about how this organization provides a voice to those who are disabled within the community. He describes how DISARA’s respite care center is helping those with disabilities by providing them with education, a strong community, and family assistance.
