East African Community Peace Envoy Visits Eastern Congo

The commander of the East African Community Regional Force, Major General Jeff Nyangah of Kenya was in Goma, capital of the Democratic of Congo North Kivu Province yesterday (Wednesday). Eastern Congo is the epicenter of M23 rebel operation, and reports say the rebels are within about 16 miles of the city. General Nyangah’s visit came as Kenya deployed more troops in DRC on Wednesday. VOA’s James Butty spoke with Journalist Al Katanty Sabiti Djaffar from Goma.
