Doctors struggle to treat dual HIV/AIDS, mpox threats
Health experts in the Democratic Republic of Congo are sounding the alarm about the impact of the mpox outbreak among women and children living with HIV/AIDS, especially those in and around conflict zones. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke with Dr. John Ditekemena, the DRC’s Country Director for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation about the mpox spread in Congo and available treatments of the virus as well as about the spread of HIV/AIDS among women who are victims of sexual violence.
