Comoros Islands Voters Go to The Polls Sunday
The people of the Comoros Islands vote Sunday in a presidential election in which incumbent President Azali Assoumani is seeking a fourth term. Assoumani pushed through a controversial constitutional amendment in 2018 to remove consecutive term limits. Some threaten to boycott the polls. Mohamed Said Mchangama, chief editor of Hayba FM radio in Moroni tells VOA's James Butty President Assoumani will win mainly because of the changes to the constitution.
