China Speaks out on US-Africa Power Struggle
China’s new Foreign Minister Qin Gang this week wrapped up his first tour of Africa where he visited five different nations and faced criticism from some experts who say his country is competing with the United States over influence in Africa. In response, Gang said, “China does not see the continent as the arena for a new power struggle between the West and Beijing.” For more, VOA’s Kate Bartlett reports from Johannesburg.
