Catastrophic Sudan
As the civil war enters its second year Sudan’s two warring factions remain locked in a deadly power struggle. Nearly 2 million displaced Sudanese have fled to unstable areas in Chad, Ethiopia, and South Sudan overrunning refugee camps. Michael Woldemariam is associate professor in the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland and a Senior Fellow at the Center for International and Security Studies. He tells VOA's Yeheyes Wuhib key interveners should be involved in Sudan to have a conversation regarding a pause in the fighting. There is simply no other way to put it, the situation in Sudan he says is catastrophic.
