Rivalry Between Sudan's Two Strongmen Endangers Country: Analyst [4:34]
The relationship between Sudan’s army chief general Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan and paramilitary leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo or Hemedti is one of rivalry and competition for power and survival—according to Cameron Hudson, senior associate of the Africa Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. As the two men engage in talks to merge their forces under one, unified army, Hudson tells VOA's Nabeel Biajo both men pose a threat to one another and their rivalry will continue to endanger an already fragile security, political and humanitarian situation in Sudan.
