Analyst Lauds Nigeria Election as Sign of Democratic Progress
Nigeria's President-elect Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to unite, as opposition leaders call for a revote and resignation of the electoral commission's chair, claiming a flawed election. Human rights lawyer Bulama Bukarti, who is also the senior analyst in the Extremism Policy Unit of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, tells Africa 54 host Esther Githui-Ewart that despite the tension, Nigeria's elections were a strong indicator of the country's transition to democracy.
