Expert who negotiated previous peace deals fears wider, regional conflict from DR Congo fighting
The UN says hundreds of people have been wounded and bodies are lying in the streets of Goma after the M23 rebel group advanced on the eastern DRC city. Paul Nantulya, research associate with the Africa Center for Strategic Studies tells VOA's Carol Van Dam that to understand the social and political origins of M23, one has to go back to the first and second Congo wars and even the Ugandan civil war which ended in 1986.
