UN official calls for lasting peace in South Sudan
The Special Representative of UN Secretary General in South Sudan is calling on the country’s citizens and political leaders to ensure lasting peace across the country. The UN Mission in South Sudan is marking United Nations Day in Eastern Equatoria state with a call for national authorities to provide services to millions of people affected by conflict, climate shocks and extreme food insecurity.
