Detecting and treating breast cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, observed annually to help bring attention to the disease. A breast exam or mammogram is one of the more commonly used methods to detect signs of cancer and women are urged to do this regularly. Dr. Laura Hodges of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, explains how cancer presence is detected in women with dense tissue.
