Analysis: How does Africa benefit at the IMF’s meeting?
At the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ‘s meeting this week, Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said the world is burdened by high debts and headed for slow medium-term growth pointing to a difficult future. Despite the gloomy outlook, World Bank and IMF officials including African financial experts will spend the week concentrating on a variety of issues, including green climate financing. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Eric LeCompte, the executive director of Jubilee USA Network, for a look on some of the issues Africa is addressing at the meeting and how those gathered there are looking to solve them.
