Malawi’s President Chakwera urges eligible citizens to register for polls
Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has called on all eligible Malawians to register in large numbers for the ongoing voter registration exercise which began this week for elections in 2025. However, the process is encountering challenges, as some citizens have taken the Malawi Electoral Commission to court over its decision to require national identity cards as the sole form of identification to register.
