Uganda marks independence as opposition leader laments living standards
Uganda is marking its 62nd independence anniversary Wednesday. The country gained its independence from Britain on October 9, 1962. The Ugandan Monitor reports President Yoweri Museveni, speaking at a breakfast prayer, called for the peaceful coexistence of all communities in Uganda.
