Fear in Nigeria’s Maiduguri as escaped Boko Haram fighters remain at large
Apprehension is growing in Nigeria’s flood-ravaged city of Maiduguri as dozens of suspected Boko Haram fighters who escaped during a prison collapse weeks ago are still at large. Security agencies have not been able to track them down, according to government officials. Abubakar Mohammed Sani of the Department of Military Studies Leadership Center at the University of Abuja tells VOA’s Chinedu Offor that the government needs to do more to restore public confidence in its ability to protect the state
