Award-winning investigative journalist Philip Obaji talks rights abuses in West and Central Africa
For the last six years, Nigerian award-winning investigative journalist Philip Obaji has uncovered human rights abuses by Russian paramilitaries in West and Central Africa. Despite facing personal danger, including being held hostage and tortured by Central African Republic rebels and soldiers, Obaji has relentlessly investigated massacres, rape and oppression by mercenaries from the Wagner Group and its successor, the Africa Corps. VOA's Jackson Mvunganyi sat down with Obaji at VOA studios in Washington.
