Ghana’s opposition NDC demands voters register audit
Ghana’s Electoral Commission says it’s open to engaging the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to address the party’s fears about the voters register ahead of presidential election this December. NDC supporters took to the streets on Tuesday demanding the electoral commission audit the 2024 voters register ahead of the December polls. The party said the failure to do so would be a threat to Ghana’s democracy. James Gunu, NDC Volta Region Secretary, tells VOA’s James Butty, the party has identified several discrepancies, including purging thousands registered voters from the list.
