Sudan’s national Health Minister Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim said Wednesday that the country has recorded 593 cases of cholera and 28 deaths from the illness since announcing the epidemic in July. In Niger, heavy rain has caused severe flooding around its capital, Niamey, submerging roads and cutting off the city from parts of the country for several days.
