Rwandan female aspirant criticizes ouster from presidential poll
Another female presidential hopeful says she has been denied participation in Rwanda’s July 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. This, as the Rwandan Electoral Commission is set to announce the final list of approved candidates on Friday. Already denied is Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza because the authorities say she has been convicted and imprisoned. Now, Diane Rwigara says she has been rejected for several reasons, including a lack of signatures from some of her supporters, a lack of proof of no criminal record, and documentary proof of citizenship. Rwigara tells VOA’s James Butty, she is disappointed because she has done all she can to meet the requirements
