Ghana’s opposition NDC boycotts parliament over leader’s trial
In Ghana, members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party are boycotting parliament to attend the trial of their leader. Cassiel Ato Forson is on trial at the High Court, along with a businessman, for an alleged 2.37-million-pound (or about 2.9 million dollar) ambulance deal. NDC parliamentarian Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor says the opposition boycotted parliament on Tuesday because the court refused to postpone the trial for the minority leader to attend parliamentary functions. He tells VOA’s James Butty, the boycott will continue during the duration of the trial
