Daouda Mohamed Camara, editor-in-chief at Espace FM, one of the stations that have been closed by Guinea’s junta government, tells VOA’s James Butty, the government has yet to clarify the reasons for the closures Guinea’s military government this week closed three private radio stations and a television station. Spokesman Ousmane Gaoual Diallo told VOA the stations were shut down because they failed to comply with regulatory and contractual obligations. The government last November closed some stations for threatening national security. It also arrested and jailed the secretary general of the Private Press Association for protesting economic hardship in the country.
