UN Reports New Cases of Yellow Fever in 16 African Countries
The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) has reported new cases of yellow fever in multiple African countries within the last month. Dr. William Komakech, WHO Epidemiologist for infectious disease control in the DR Congo tells VOA’s Carol Van Dam the total number of confirmed cases is down from a year ago, but active surveillance is required due to the potential for transmission through travel.
