Uganda on Alert as ADF Militants Cross Border
Ugandan security forces are on high alert after receiving intelligence that The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militants are planning attacks in urban areas including places of worship, schools, and public events. The ADF has been linked to a series of deadly attacks in Uganda, including targeting a school in Uganda last June. Colonel Deo Akiiki, the deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense and Veteran’s Affairs, tells VOA’s Douglas Mpuga that the Islamic State-linked group is said to have entered the country over the weekend from DRC.
