Health Report: Nigeria Hosts Universal Health Care Conference
Achieving universal health coverage is one of the targets set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. According to the World Health Organization, this will enable all people to have access to the full range of health services they need including prevention, treatment and rehabilitative care, when and where they need them without suffering financial hardship. To find out more on what’s being done to implement universal health care across Africa, VOA’s Linord Moudou spoke to Dr. Dennis Cherian, the Vice President of Corus International’s Health, Nutrition and WASH programs. Cherian is also currently attending the 11th Biennial Conference of the Africa Christian Health Associates Platform, a twice-yearly conference where faith leaders work with healthcare professionals to achieve common treatment goals.
