Nelson Chamisa, the main opposition leader in Zimbabwe, this week stepped down from his post as president of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change, CCC, that he founded in 2022. Chamisa’s decision to step down came amid infighting within the CCC that led to some opposition members of parliament being recalled from the government body and others blocked from participating in by-elections. For more, VOA Zimbabwe’s Blessing Zulu spoke to Chamisa via telephone. He explained his choice to step down as leader of the CCC and his future plans as an opposition leader in the southern African nation.
