Tech Report: Connecting Rwandans Through Wikimedia
The need to connect Rwandans to the online encyclopedia Wikipedia has led to a movement of young people to empower individuals to contribute to the website in their native language, Kinyarwanda. Dubbed as Wikimedia Community Rwanda, the team is an independent group of self-motivated individuals that aims to improve articles on the Wikimedia Foundation project websites and promote free and open knowledge in Kinyarwanda. For a look into how the team operates, VOA's Paul Ndiho spoke to Ndahiro Derrick, a Wikipedia team lead in Kigali, Rwanda.
