Sudan's Warring Factions Inch Closer to Cessation of Hostilities Deal

Inter-Governmental Authority on Development Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu said on Saturday that Sudan Army Chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Rapid Support Forces leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo agreed to sign a cessation of hostilities as the the two commanders are expected to may meet soon. Sudanese political analyst Salman Mohamed Salman tells VOA's Nabeel Biajo the shift from holding talks in Jeddah to Khartoum to end Sudan's eight-month-long conflict is important.
