UN Agency Seeks Permanent Gaza Cease-Fire

It has been exactly two months since Hamas militants attacked Israel and took about 240 hostages into Gaza. The fighting has escalated to almost every corner of Gaza, and the humanitarian crisis has drastically worsened. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has invoked Article 99 of the UN Charter to call for a Security Council meeting Friday) Juliette Touma, spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), tells VOA’s James Butty, the situation in the Gaza Strip is moving very quickly from a humanitarian crisis to a catastrophe.
