South Sudanese Activist Says Special Force Can Be Armed Despite Embargo
A civil society representative and signatory of the 2018 South Sudan Revitalized Peace Agreement, Rajab Mohandis, disagrees with statements by the government spokesperson that the Necessary Unified Forces had to be deployed without weapons due to the arms embargo on South Sudan. Mohandis argues provisions in the embargo permit the importation of weapons in line with the implementation of the peace agreement. Charlton Doki has more from Juba.
