Analyst: Malian Junta's Expulsion of MINUSMA Creating a Security Vacuum
Rebels in Mali have said they seized a base in the northern city of Kidal following the departure of the United Nations mission, MINUSMA, in the region. Mali’s ruling junta ordered the decades-old U.N. peacekeeping mission to vacate the country in June, but analysts say their withdrawal may lead to a "security vacuum" in the restive region.
