Newly Released Report Outlines Chinese Influence in African Militaries
According to a recent study titled "China’s 'Military Political Work' and Professional Military Education in Africa" by the Washington-based Africa Center for Strategic Studies, the East Asian nation is training nearly 2,000 African military officers annually at military and political academies. The study says China is leveraging the professional military education in Africa as an opportunity to promote its governance model, while deepening ties to Africa’s ruling political parties.
