Ethiopia Rights Body Accuses Government of Extrajudicial Killings
update
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission says security forces killed dozens of civilians this month in the country’s Amhara region. In its latest report, the group says government forces committed extrajudicial killings against civilians accusing and arresting them for providing information or weapons to militias. Ethiopian government officials were not immediately available to comment on the allegations. Tarikua Getachew, Director of the Law and Policy Department at the state-appointed Ethiopian Human Rights Commission, tells VOA’s James Butty, it has documented several incidents in which civilians were killed in October.
