VOA Exclusive: Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera Discusses Natural Disaster Response
Malawian president Lazarus Chakwera says Cyclone Freddy devastated his country leaving many dead and displaced, while destroying infrastructure. Civil society groups are blaming the administration for a maize shortage and failing to improve living conditions. VOA's Peter Clottey spoke with President Chakwera about how Cyclone Freddy and other natural disasters are hindering his country’s recovery.
