Protests Greet Guinea’s Junta Chief’s Coup Defense
update
Protesters greeted Guinea’s military leader Colonel Mamady Doumbouya as he addressed the 78th United Nations General Assembly Thursday in New York. Members of the group, the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC), want the military to return Guinea to democratic rule. Alpha Fria Barry, founding member of the FNDC, tells VOA’s James Butty, the group is frustrated with the way the junta is handling the transition.
