Africa 54: World Leaders Discusses Sustainable Development Goals, Alarm Over Child Deaths in Sudan
Amid concerns that their Sustainable Development Goals aren’t on track, world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly in New York adopt a political declaration that brings hope to developing countries. United Nations agencies says more than 1,200 children have died of suspected measles and malnutrition in Sudan refugee camps, while many thousands more, including newborns, are at risk of death before year-end, United Nations agencies said on Tuesday. The International Rescue Committee - IRC in on the ground in Libya providing relief efforts to victims of the flood that swept away entire neighborhoods in parts of the country.
