Burhan Seeks Juba’s Mediation in Sudan Conflict
Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan, Sudan's army chief, arrived in the South Sudanese capital, Juba, Monday morning and was received by President Salva Kiir. Both leaders discussed regional efforts to find a settlement to the conflict in Sudan. “In Sudan we feel that South Sudan is the best country to mediate because we have been one country for so long and we know each other, we know the problems and we know the needs of each side,” said Ali al-Sadiq, Sudan's acting foreign minister.
