Analyst: Death of Wagner Leader Unlikely to Stop Africa Venture

Several US news organizations reported Wednesday that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Russian mercenary group Wagner, was killed in a plane crash outside Moscow on Wednesday. Ten people were killed in the crash. Mary Glantz , senior advisor for the Center for Russia and Europe at the United States Institute of Peace, tells VOA’s James Butty, that she believes Russia will continue is activities in Africa with or without Prigozhin. She says Moscow’s use of groups like the Wagner to destabilize democracies in Africa is troubling to the United States.
