Zimbabwe’s Only Female Candidate Worries About Future

The only female candidate in Zimbabwe’s August 23 elections says she is concerned about the country’s future. Elizabeth Valerio of the United Zimbabwe Alliance party says successive politicians have failed to deliver a better life for Zimbabweans despite the country’s enormous natural resources. Valerio tells VOA’s James Butty, she did not collaborate with the more established political parties because her prescription for solving Zimbabwe’s problems is far different from what the other parties have been offering.
