US Issues Business Advisory on South Sudan
update
The United States Monday issued a business advisory on South Sudan. It highlights the growing “reputational, financial, and legal risks to U.S. businesses and American conducting business or transactions with companies that have significant ties to South Sudan’s Transitional Government, or that are controlled by family members of government officials.” The advisory says South Sudan’s transitional government has failed to implement key economic reforms and public financial management commitments made in the 2018 Revitalized Peace Agreement. South Sudan officials did not respond to our request for a comment. Goi Jooyul Yol, a South Sudanese political activist and business consultant, spoke with VOA’s James Butty.
