Africa 54: Nigerians Protests Against Sanctions, Fmr US President Trump to Appear In Court
Supporters of Niger’s junta demonstrated in Niamey on Thursday to protest sanctions and demand the departure of French troops, as U.S President Joe Biden calls for the immediate release of president Mohamed Bazoum, who was ousted last week in a military coup. Former U.S. president Donald Trump is due to appear in court Thursday, after a grand jury in Washington, DC accused him of illegally trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
