Ugandan Entrepreneur Wins US Mandela Washington Fellowship Award
Jamila Mayanja, a Ugandan alumni of the U.S. sponsored Mandela Washington Fellowship and the founder of “Smart Girls Uganda,” a non-governmental organization focused on empowering women interested in STEM, Wednesday was announced as the winner of the followship's Leadership Impact Award. Mayanja was awarded for her work empowering Ugandan girls and equipping them with skills to venture into male dominated careers such as engineering.
