CAR Opposition Calls For Boycott of Referendum Vote
Voters in the Central African Republic go to the polls on Sunday in a constitutional referendum that, if passed, would remove the two-term presidential limit, and allow President Faustin-Archange Touadera to stay in power longer. The Russian paramilitary group Wagner is operating in the country. Alain Kouda, a physician and scientist originally from Central African Republic, tells VOA’s James Butty, he agrees with the opposition call to boycott the vote because it is illegal.
