UN Envoy: Only Compromise Can End Libya Stalemate
The United Nations envoy to Libya said on Tuesday that the North African nation needs a "compromise" to overcome the current political stalemate. Abdoulaye Bathily spoke during a security meeting in Benghazi that featured the ambassadors of Italy, Egypt, Tunisia, Germany and the United Kingdom. “We urge key stakeholders and Libyan institutions to reach an inclusive settlement on the main political contested issues on the basis of dialogue and compromise,” said the U.N. Senegalese official.
