Human Rights Watch Tuesday called for the International Criminal Court to investigate the violence in Sudan’s Darfur region. Meanwhile, members of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, IGAD, represented by four states from the bloc, met in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to kick-start a peace process for the conflict in Sudan. IGAD said they agreed to request a summit of another regional body, the Eastern Africa Standby Force, EASF, to consider the possible deployment of the EASF for the protection of civilians and guarantee humanitarian access.
