Human Rights Watch has urged the International Criminal Court to launch an investigation into a series of assaults carried out by Sudan's Rapid Support Forces. The RSF has been engaged in a three-month-long conflict with the country's army. The attacks have included alleged summary executions of at least 28 individuals belonging to the Massalit ethnic group and the killing and injuring of numerous other civilians on May 28. According to the human rights organization, these acts could potentially qualify as war crimes. VOA's Nabeel Biajo interviewed Berlin-based HRW researcher Mohamed Osman, who is appealing to Sudan's conflicting parties, the army and the RSF, to cease their assaults on civilians and facilitate safe access for humanitarian assistance.
