Sudanese psychologists argue that the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has produced conditions for sexual violence, which is rising as young women and children attempt to flee the Northeast African nation. For more, VOA’s Nabeel Biajo spoke to Sulaima Ishaq, the director of Combatting Violence Against Women – a department of Sudan’s Ministry of Social Development that has documented at least 60 cases of rape and sexual violence since the onset of hostilities.
