World Refugee Day Highlights Resilience of Displaced People

Every year, June 20 is recognized as World Refugee Day to celebrate the courage of those forced to flee their homes and escape persecution. The United Nations says a majority of refugees worldwide reside in foreign nations due to the crises unfolding in their homelands. For insight, VOA's Esther Githui–Ewart spoke via Skype to Henry Waitindi, Somalia program manager at AVSI, an organization that caters to migrants at the Dadaab refugee camp in northern Kenya.
