Commonwealth Calls for Better Financing for Vulnerable Nations
The Commonwealth Secretariat used last month’s International Monetary Fund and World Bank spring meetings to call on global institutions to reform their criteria that determine eligibility for financing, arguing this would help vulnerable nations better tackle challenges such as climate change. To better understand how Africa would benefit from the calls to reform global lending, VOA’s Peter Clottey had an in-depth discussion with Patricia Scotland, the Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
